Bob Watts has been named vice-president and general manager and Joe Robinson manufacturing services manager at Heil Trailer International's Athens TN facility. Watts comes to Heil from another Dover company, Chief Automotive of Grand Island NE, where he was vice-president of operations both in the United States and Europe. Robinson has more than 20 years of manufacturing experience. Heil has promoted Andy Fincher to vice-president — sales and marketing. He most recently served as director of marketing.

OMNI Logistics has hired Mark S Bitting, who will be responsible for the OMNI Logix division and OTIS (Online Transportation Information System). He has served in executive management positions with US Steel, La Roche, and Chemical Leaman.

Littlejohn Inc has promoted Gerald Bonds to sales associate responsible for customer service in representing the firm's product lines. A 10-year Littlejohn veteran, he has worked in several departments.

Eaton Corp has appointed Thomas S Gross to the newly created position of vice-president — Eaton Business System. He joins Eaton from Danaher Corp, where he was group executive for the Motion Control business.

Mack Canada Inc has named Brian McClintock district manager for eastern Canada, based in Montreal.

Detroit Diesel Corp (DDC) has appointed Carsten Reinhardt chief executive officer, effective April 1, 2003. Reinhardt will join DDC from DaimlerChrysler's Freightliner LLC business unit, where he is general manager of the company'sPortland OR truck manufacturing plant.

Omar Fakhoury has been named vice-president of engineering for Gunite Corp. He most recently served as manager of product research and development.

Robert Kurnick Jr has been promoted from executive vice-president to president of Penske Corp and has been elected to its board of directors. He will continue to serve as general counsel of UnitedAuto Group Inc, of which Penske is the largest shareholder. Roger Penske will continue as chairman of Penske Corp and chairman and CEO of UnitedAuto.

Bill Patrolia has joined Iteris Inc, a subsidiary of Odetics Inc, as director of North American truck sales to focus on the company's lane departure warning system for the United States truck market. He comes from Siemens Integrated Local Government, where he served as director — sales and marketing.

Robert C “Bob” Goozen of Whitehall Sales Associates has been named sales agent for E J Brooks Co and its subsidiaries Meter Devices Co and Ekstrom Industries Inc.

Autocar LLC has named Mark Neale sales engineer. He comes to Autocar from Western Star Trucks, where he served in several engineering and program management positions.

Bostrom Seating, a business unit of Transportation Technologies Industries Inc (TTI), has hired Michael Bates as director of engineering. Bates was formerly employed by General Motors as system architect and as lead engineer.
