Peter Karlsten has been named the new president of Volvo Trucks North America, succeeding Michel Gigou, who will return to Europe in October. Karlsten, who starts his new position October 1, has been president of Volvo Trucks in Brazil since 2001. Gigou, formerly Mack Trucks Inc president, will remain chairman of Volvo Trucks.

Joseph M Gingo has been named executive vice-president — quality systems and chief technical officer of The Goodyear Tire &- Rubber Co. He has served as Goodyear's senior vice-president for technology and global products planning since 1999.

ArvinMeritor Inc has named Eduardo Montero director — product management and marketing for its Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket (CVA) group based in Florence KY. Before joining ArvinMeritor, he served as an internal consultant to global pricing and procurement groups at Eli Lilly & Co. ArvinMeritor has appointed Walt Sherbourne director — aftermarket sales for the CVA group. He previously served as eastern regional sales manager for the group.

Effective June 20, 2003, William P Flies will step down as chairman and chief technology officer of XATA Corp, but he will remain a company director.

The Holland Group has added Larry Jensen as vice-president of operations for Holland USA. He comes to the company from International Profit Associates, where he served as senior business analyst.

Andy Wodzisz has been promoted to warehouse operations manager for Titan Industries. He previously served as territory sales manager.

Hendrickson International has named Gary Gerstenslager general manager of the trailer suspension systems division. He will continue to direct the company's Manufacturing Excellence program. For the past eight months, Gerstenslager served as executive director of the trailer division.

Transportation Technologies Industries (TTI) has added Steve Witherspoon to its Detroit MI sales team. Most recently, he was business development manager/senior account manager with Benteler Automotive.

G-Log's board of directors has appointed David Cairns chief executive officer. He had been acting president since March 2003. Mitch Weseley, G-Log founder and former CEO, will remain chairman of the board.

Robert S Zimmerman has been named vice-president and treasurer of Greif Inc. He previously was assistant treasurer for the company.
