ArvinMeritor Inc has appointed Rakesh Sachdev vice-president and controller. He most recently was vice-president and general manager for the firm's Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) worldwide braking systems product group. The company has named Jay McLean vice-president of information technology (IT) for its CVS group, including its aftermarket operation. Previously, McLean served as senior director of IT — human resources and financial systems. ArvinMeritor has named five people to its CVS Advanced Engineering group. Gary Ganaway, director — product systems, previously served as director of marketing and customer support for the CVS Brake Division. Vern Caron, the new director of electronics strategy and program management, most recently was president of Caron Engineering. Tjong Lie, appointed Advanced Engineering's director of advanced suspensions program management, previously served as chief engineer for The Integral Group. Jim Theuerkauf, the new manager of special programs, most recently was director — research and innovation at the ArvinMeritor Columbus Technical Center. Thomas DePotter, named Advanced Engineering's director — advanced product development processes, previously served as global director — planning and process development for Volvo 3P.

Hendrickson International has named Keith Stephenson to the newly created position of senior vice-president — global operations. He has held several positions since joining the firm in 1985. Hendrickson has promoted Jeff Miller from trailer account manager to OEM sales manager — trailer products.

Webb Wheel Products Inc has named Kent Finkbiner to the newly created position of director of marketing. He joins Webb from Cummins Inc, where he held a variety of positions.

Falcon Gas Storage Co Inc has named Keith W Chandler vice-president of earth sciences. He has 47 years of experience as a petroleum exploration and exploitation geologist. Lowell C Thronson is the new manager of engineering and construction. He has more than 25 years' experience in engineering and senior level management for upstream oil and gas projects. Mark A Fullerton joins as project manager primarily responsible for developing the high-deliverability, multi-cycle (HDMC) MoBay Gas Storage Project in Mobile County AL. He has more than 10 years of experience in HDMC gas storage project development. Larry Krohmer has joined as manager of reservoir engineering. He has more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry. Henry D Adair comes to Falcon as project manager — land. Since 1989, he has specialized in government and public relations related to developing storage development and pipeline projects.

Wayne Clifton has been promoted to director of sales and marketing at puraDYN Filter Technologies Inc. Jeffrey Tate has been hired to replace him as regional manager — Southwest for puraDYN sales. Tate most recently served with Hydrotex Lubricants as vice-president of sales.

Bandag Inc has appointed Dr Amy P Hutton to its board of directors to fill the vacancy created by Lucille A Carver's retirement in May 2002. Hutton is an associate professor of business administration at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College in Hanover NH.

Flying J Inc has appointed J J Singh vice-president — financial and communications services. Singh previously served as president of T-Chek Systems Inc.
