OPW Fueling Components EMEA, a Dover company, has hired Fred Hess as director of sales and marketing-OPW EMEA. He comes to OPW after spending the past 21 years at Franklin Fueling Systems GmbH in Wittlich, Germany, the last 11 of which he served as Franklin Fueling's director and vice-president of EMEA. OPW Fueling Components has appointed Lewis Bell director of training. Based in Denver CO, he will report directly to Keith Moye, OPW's vice-president of sales and marketing. Lewis joins OPW from Gilbarco Veeder-Root, where he spent the past seven years as technical training manager.

Meritor Inc announced that Tim Fullbright has been named the company's Manufacturing Engineer of the Year. Fullbright earned the award for contributions to the continued improvement, flexibility, capability, and safety of Asheville's housing manufacturing process. He was recognized for his role in the design, development, and installation of an induction heater for a large blanking press. Fullbright joined Meritor 2004 as a senior controls engineer after spending 18 years with American Enka/BASF in engineering roles. Meritor honored John Steven Galligher with its Lifetime Achievement Award for Manufacturing Engineering. He earned the award for contributions to the development and advancement of carrier components and gearing manufacturing processes. Galligher joined the company in 1978 as a senior manufacturing specialist after an eight-year career at General Motors. He has held a variety of management positions since transferring to the company's facility in Asheville NC. Meritor honored Jack McKenzie with its Lifetime Achievement Award for Product Engineering. He earned the award for leadership in design and development of on-highway axles, including Meritor's 14X axle product design and production release. McKenzie began his career at Meritor in 1977 as a co-op student and currently is chief engineer leading the North America Carrier engineering group. Meritor has announced Florin Patrascu is the company's Product Engineer of the Year. Patrascu earned the award for his contributions to driveline engineering in the areas of customer applications, application analysis, and product design. He was also recognized for his role as the principal application/project engineer responsible for establishing Meritor's driveline business in Brazil. He joined Meritor in 2008 from American Axle & Manufacturing in Detroit MI, where he was a senior project engineer.

Polar Service Centers has hired James Peanoski as Express Shop service manager for its locations in Bensalem PA and Rahway NJ. He reports to Jerry Cignarella, general manager of Polar Service Centers in the Northeast.

Volvo Trucks announced that effective October 1, 2012, Göran Nyberg is the new president of North American Sales & Marketing, based in Greensboro NC. Serving with the Volvo Group since 2003, he was most recently managing director for Volvo Group UK Limited, the Volvo Trucks sales and marketing division in the United Kingdom. Nyberg succeeds Ron Huibers, who was recently appointed president of Volvo Penta Americas.

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC has appointed Claus Beyer vice-president and general manager, Brake Controls and Electronics Technology. He spent the past 14 years with the Knorr-Bremse Commercial Vehicle Group, most recently as chief operating officer for KB Commercial Vehicles China and general manager for Knorr-Bremse Brake Equipment in Shanghai, China.

GE Capital Fleet Services has appointed Kristi Webb president and chief executive officer. She replaces Clarence Nunn, who was recently appointed chief commercial officer for GE Capital, Americas. Webb was previously general manager of GE Capital's Dealer Finance business.

Haldex has promoted Liz Macpherson to customer service manager. She began her career with the firm in 1988 and most recently served as customer pricing and information manager/supervisor of specialty accounts (government, transit, and automotive).

Horton Inc has hired John Getter as vice-president of manufacturing. With nearly 30 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, and procurement, he most recently was vice-president of manufacturing and logistics for Bühler Inc, a Plymouth MN-based manufacturer of food-processing equipment.
