Navistar International Corp has elected Daniel C Ustian president and chief operating officer and a director, and Robert C Lannert has been elected vice-chairman of the board of directors. Lannert continues as chief financial officer, and John R Horne continues as chairman and chief executive officer. Succeeding Ustian as president of the company's engine group is Richard J Fotsch, who joins the company from Briggs & Stratton Corp, where he had been senior vice-president — power products group. At International Truck and Engine Corp, Navistar's operating company, Ustian was elected president of the engine group in July 1999.
Mack Trucks has named Frank Meehan senior vice-president — international. Most recently vice-president and general manager of Mack Canada, he succeeds retiring John Mirsepahi. Mack has named John McQuade to succeed Meehan as regional vice-president — Canada. McQuade most recently was director of national accounts at Mack Canada.
Heil Trailer International has named Greg Barrett trailer sales manager at its Louisville KY site. He will be responsible for new Heil trailer sales in portions of Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois along with purchase and resale of used equipment. Barrett had been regional sales manager for Paragon Trading Co.
Syltone Industries LLC has appointed Ralph Griffith national sales manager for the Emco Wheaton brand of petroleum tank truck valves and fittings. With more than 30 years' experience in the tank truck market, he most recently was general manager of EBW Transport Systems in Muskegon MI.
Eaton Corp has appointed Richard H Fearon executive vice-president and chief financial and planning officer. He joined Eaton from Willow Place Partners, a Menlo Park CA-based corporate advisory firm that he founded in 2001.
Accuride Corp's board of directors has appointed Terrence “Terry” Keating president and chief executive officer and elected him to the board of directors. He previously was senior vice-president and general manager of Accuride's Wheel Division. He replaces William “Bill” Greubel, who resigned to join Wabash National Corp.
ArvinMeritor Inc has appointed Harry Howard vice-president and general manager of the company's Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket (CVA) business group. He will work at CVA headquarters in Florence KY. Formerly, Howard was director of marketing for Pioneer-Standard Electronics.
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co has named Daniel E Martin general manager-commercial tire sales — West. He has 23 years of truck industry experience at Paccar, where he served as distribution center manager and national sales manager for the Parts Division, and director of United States sales for the Kenworth Truck Co.
Gilbarco Inc and The Veeder-Root Co have announced their management team. With Scott Clawson as president of the two companies, the team includes David Kaehler, president of Gilbarco Americas, and Rick Zimmerman, president of Gilbarco International. Both Kaehler and Zimmerman had similar duties at Gilbarco. Martin Gafinowitz, who formerly served as vice-president of sales and marketing for Veeder-Root, was named as its vice-president and general manager. Victor Swint was appointed vice-president and general manager of service station equipment for Gilbarco. He was previously vice-president and general manager of Danaher's Jacobs Vehicle Systems. Steve Henry, previously vice-president of sales for Veeder-Root, was named vice-president of sales for Gilbarco and Veeder-Root. John Dion, formerly vice-president of service for Veeder-Root, is now vice-president and general manager of service for Gilbarco and Veeder-Root. Don Dreher was named senior vice-president of global operations for Gilbarco and Veeder-Root. He had served as group vice-president for Danaher Power Solutions. Doug Snowberger, previously director of information technology for the Danaher Tool Group, is now chief information officer for Gilbarco and Veeder-Root. Joel Jackson was named vice-president of human resources for Gilbarco. He was previously vice-president of human resources for Danaher's Motion Components Division of the Motion Control Group.
