Polar Tank Trailer has named Brent Thompson general manager of the company's manufacturing operation in Springfield MO. Previously, he held increasingly senior operations-management positions at the ITW Ramset division of Illinois Tool Works.

ChemLogix LLC has appointed Mike Challman vice-president of its North American operations, a newly created position. With more than two decades of experience in the transportation sector, he most recently served as senior director, operations of Exel Logistics, a DHL company. ChemLogix has promoted John Danielson to the new position of director, brokerage operations of its new Brokerage Business Unit. With more than two decades of experience in logistics, he has worked with ChemLogix since its inception, previously as director of operations.

Dan Jarboe retired from Beall Corporation effective June 1, 2012. He joined the firm September 2, 1986 and has been vice-president of marketing and sales during more than 25 years with the company. He will be replaced by Mike Beall.

Ty Hutchens, who has been promoted to vice-president of administration at Hutchens Industries, will assume more executive-level operational responsibilities. Dan Cordier, who has been promoted to vice-president of sales-USA, will direct Hutchens' sales efforts for OEM and aftermarket customers in the 48 contiguous United States and Hawaii. Eugene Robinett, who has been promoted to vice-president of sales-international, will direct sales in Alaska, all international sales efforts, as well as targeted efforts in the intermodal and marine market sectors. Mike White, who has been with the firm almost 50 years, will now serve as an industry consultant for the company to assist in sales and marketing efforts.

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC has appointed Carlos Hungria chief operating officer and a member of the Bendix executive board. He joins Bendix after a 30-year career as a part of the Volvo organization. Most recently, he served as chief operating officer at Volvo Powertrain.

ACT Research announced that Dr Dave Fluharty has joined the firm as senior staff statistician. He has more than three decades of experience in the motor vehicle industry at several Tier One suppliers and a US automotive OEM. Most recently, he was manager of market forecasting and research at a commercial vehicle parts supplier.

Fras-le has appointed Rodrigo Meirelles vice-president and general manager for its North American and European operations. Based in Michigan, he will divide his time between Fras-le's operations in the United States, Germany, and Brazil. Meirelles last served as commercial director of commercial vehicles for Eaton Corporation in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

TMD Friction announced that chief executive officer and board member Derek Whitworth has decided to pursue new opportunities outside the automotive supply industry and will be leaving the group. The board asked John Hudson, executive director and chief financial officer, to succeed Whitworth as CEO. Mal Hartland will succeed Hudson as CFO. Hartland has been with TMD since 2001 and has held senior roles within the Finance Department.
