Monroe's Gas-Magnum spring-over steering stabilizers from Tenneco Automotive are engineered to help reduce driver workload and fatigue by maintaining control of self-steering drop axles used with heavy-duty trucks, concrete mixers, and other harsh over-the-road applications. These stabilizers combine an advanced shock absorber with a self-centering, heavy-rate coil-over spring that helps maintain steering stability while allowing the front axle to self-steer.

The Monroe stabilizer also includes several design features that address common causes of stabilizer failure in heavy-duty applications. Each stabilizer features a pressure-tube section that is 50% thicker than the competition's standard, an oversize 1⅜" piston bore, multi-lip pressure-tube seal, and a chrome-plated rod that, at 5/8" diameter, is 25% thicker than traditional rods. Monroe stabilizers also include stronger arc-welded mounts, an impact-resistant dirt shield to guard the piston rod and pressure-tube seal, and a larger oil chamber for faster heat dissipation and elimination of fading during heavy use.
