In addition, Shell's Rick Ferguson served as TRANSCAER’s Texas coordinator in 2004 and 2005, providing strong leadership and financial support for the program. The company “actively recruited new participants and provided training equipment and trainers for events,” according to Nancy White, TRANSCAER staff executive.

Shell's Deer Park and Norco plant emergency response teams provided training to local emergency responders in Andalusia AL and personnel from the Geismar plant worked to reinvigorate the Louisiana TRANSCAER effort. White commended Wade Newman for his role as treasurer, Cynthia Lusk for her service on the publicity committee, Mike Boaze for his work as a trainer, and Marty Pierce for her service on the Texas Chemical Council Outreach Committee.
