Schneider National, a provider of transportation, logistics, and intermodal services, is providing the Pro-TREAD (Trucker Education and Development) driver training program from Instructional Technologies Inc (ITI) to its entire fleet.

This Internet version of ITI's original computer-based, truck-driver training, TREAD-1, gives drivers more training options, including more frequent training online.

Drivers can also defer part or all of their in-house training to online training. This allows them to go through lessons anytime at their own pace, as often as they wish, from the convenience of their home or truck cab.

ITI is beginning to provide Pro-TREAD directly into drivers' cabs as a result of partnerships with communications and tracking providers including PeopleNet, GeoLogic, and DriverTech.

Pro-TREAD can also be accessed at the 113 truckstops that offer IdleAire Technologies' Truckstop Electrification, a system that provides heating and air-conditioning, along with electrical outlets and various communications and entertainment options, for each truck cab.

Schneider is the largest truckload carrier to provide Pro-TREAD driver training to its entire fleet.
