The average on-road diesel price across the nation fell last week almost five cents to $2.546 per gallon, continuing its consecutive month and a half slide, according to information from the Energy Department.
The price also was almost 60 cents lower than it was this time last year when the pumps were ringing up at $3.144 per gallon.
