MAPTUIT Corp of Burlington, Massachusetts, has partnered individually with PeopleNet of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Cadec Global of Londonderry, New Hampshire; and GeoLogic Solutions of Herndon, Virginia, in three separate arrangements to provide various services.
Maptuit also announced that its NaviGo, an in-cab navigation system, will be available through the DT4000 TruckPC, a Windows XP platform from DriverTech of Salt Lake City, Utah.
The software systems were discussed at the American Trucking Associations Management Conference and Exhibition October 28-31 in Dallas, Texas.
The Maptuit/PeopleNet agreement will provide Maptuit's NaviGo truck specific navigation content via its enhanced driver displays. The content will also be integrated into PeopleNet's PACOS Geofencing platform, which will enable in-transit geo-corridor management and real time out-of-route alert monitoring for drivers and the back office.
The arrangement with Cadec offers Maptuit NaviGo on Cadec's next-generation OBC (onboard computer), featuring a Windows-based touch screen with a color display and high-resolution graphical interface. The combined Maptuit and Cadec system will provide a touch-screen-operated navigation system that offers audible truck-specific, real-time, and turn-by-turn directions. If drivers miss a turn, they will immediately hear a recalculated route, providing directions from the new location to the selected destination.
Maptuit's partnering with GeoLogic Solutions will offer NaviGo over GeoLogic's new CDU (color display unit), a Windows-based touch screen display featuring a high-resolution graphical interface. The program delivers Maptuit's content on the multi-mode (satellite or cellular) on-board device with touch-screen operation and GPS capabilities.
With Driver Tech, Maptuit is combining tri-modal technology (cellular, WiFi, and satellite) that will present truck drivers with interactive maps centered on the truck and audible turn-by-turn, truck-specific directions.
