Production in the US plastic resins industry rebounded 3.1 percent in 2006 from the powerful blow dealt by the major hurricanes that swept through the Gulf coast in 2005, according to information from the American Chemistry Council (ACC).

Resin production climbed to 113.2 billion pounds in 2006. Total sales for the year grew to 113.0 billion pounds, a solid 2.2 percent increase over 2005.
