William “Bill” Fullam has joined CTL Distribution Inc in Columbus OH as vice-president of national accounts. His most recent position was sales manager for Transport Service.

Suppliers

Marc Gustafson has resigned as president and chief executive officer of Volvo Trucks North America (VTNA), a position he has held since 1996. Karl-Erling Trogen, senior vice-president of Volvo AB, the OEM's Swedish parent, has been appointed VTNA's acting president and CEO.

Heil Trailer International has promoted John Snodgrass to vice-president — global accounts. He most recently was manager of major oil and global accounts. Bill Brininstool has been promoted to managing director of Heil Asia. He has served in the international and export group, as a regional sales person, manager of the export department, and product manager. Karl Stabenow has been named general manager of Kalyn/Siebert, Heil's recent acquisition. He most recently was sales manager of both Heil and J&L Tank. Allan Nilsson has been promoted to sales manager of J&L Tank. Nilsson previously served in Heil's engineering department. Rob Sitton has been named engineering supervisor at J&L Tank. He has served in positions at Heil Texas and at Heil's facility in the United Kingdom. Mahmood Kazi, vice-president — international, has retired. Kazi began with Heil in 1991 as director of the Pacific Region and spent the past 18 years in the sale of refuse trucks and tankers.

Mack Trucks Inc has promoted Kevin M Flaherty to senior vice-president — sales. He succeeds Paul L Vikner, who left the company to pursue other interests. Flaherty has served as vice-president — domestic sales since 1998.

Paccar Leasing Co has added Paul Penberthy as director of maintenance. He previously spent nine years at Kenworth Truck Co, most recently as market segment manager — truckload/LTL.

Brian H Buckham is the new marketing manager for Hendrickson International's Trailer Suspension Systems division. In his most recent position with Kumho Tire in Akron OH, he served as product development manager for North America.

Great West Casualty Co has named Scott Rager chief executive officer and Hugh Fugleberg president and chief operating officer. Al Johnson will continue to serve as chairman of the board. Rager most recently was senior vice-president — administration and corporate services. Fugleberg previously was senior vice-president — operations.

@Road has appointed David J Lebedeff director of investor relations. Lebedeff most recently was investor relations director for Legato Systems Inc.

Horton Inc has been restructured into separate OEM and aftermarket business units. Kevin Vick, formerly Horton's director — field sales, has been named vice-president of the aftermarket unit. Jim O'Rourke, formerly vice-president of sales and marketing, was named vice-president of the OEM unit. Michael Shong is the new director of management information systems. Before joining Horton, Shong was information technology manager for Fisher-Rosemount.

Tom Wladyka has joined Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems as product line director — specialty products. He most recently served with ArvinMeritor Inc as regional sales manager.

Milder Oil Co has promoted Emily I Milder to president and chief operating officer. She joined the company three years ago after 10 years in the motion picture industry in Los Angeles CA.

Sam Ferrise has resigned as president of Bandag Inc's distribution subsidiary, Tire Distribution Systems Inc, so he can become president of Baldwin Filters, a division of Clarcor Inc.

XATA Corp has named John G Lewis chief financial officer, succeeding Gary C Thomas, who retired in September 2000. Before joining XATA, Lewis was CFO of St Paul MN-based Primeyield Systems Inc.

Associations

The National Private Truck Council has appointed Gary Frank Petty as its new president and chief executive officer. He had served as president and CEO of the National Moving and Storage Association before its merger in 1998 with the American Movers Conference. He also served as president of Johnson/United International of Denver CO and Victory/Allied International of Alexandria VA.

Government

Timothy A Klein has been selected as associate administrator for innovation, research, and education at the Research and Special Programs Administration. He previously served as program business manager for instruments and formulation at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt MD.

Former National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) chairman Jim Hall has joined the law offices of Dillon, Hall & Lungershausen as a partner and will head the firm's new Washington DC office. Hall joined the NTSB as a member in October 1993, was appointed chairman in June 1994, and resigned from the board in January 2001.
