Odyssey Logistics & Technology Corp, provider of global transportation and logistics services for the chemical industry and process manufacturers, has announced significant milestones through the first half of 2004. The company has acquired a leading bulk trucking services provider, debuted a new technology platform, and achieved certification from the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT). Odyssey also has signed five major outsourcing contracts in the past six months.

In February 2004, Odyssey acquired Omni Logistics, a market leader in bulk trucking services. The acquisition positioned Odyssey as the largest non-asset owning bulk trucking company in the nation, adding a bulk transportation network to Odyssey's service offerings.

Odyssey in March introduced a transportation management infrastructure, the Global Logistics Platform. Serving as the technology backbone to Odyssey's service offering, the platform connects directly to its customers' Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to give manufacturers and distributors visibility into their logistics supply chains and access to data than can be turned into actionable information.

With more than 200 customers to date, Odyssey continues to sign new agreements with customers. In the first half of 2004, Odyssey signed five new deals that provide exclusive, multi-year contracts for all of the logistics functions covering rail, ocean, barge, tanker, and warehousing services.

Odyssey was recently named a certified partner of C-TPAT. A joint business-government initiative to protect global commerce from terrorism, C-TPAT requires companies to employ self-assessing security systems to guarantee security practices throughout the supply chain. As a certified partner of the C-TPAT program, Odyssey's customers benefit from faster processing of shipments to dedicated commercial lanes where infrastructure permits.
