Richard Lee “Dick” Miller, former comptroller and vice-president of Jackson MS-based Miller Transporters Inc, died Feb 7, 2007. He was 81. Son of Harold Dewey Miller Sr and Alice Louise Witten Miller, he was born in Santa Cruz CA and lived in Caracas, Venezuela, as a child. The Mississippi State University honors graduate served in the United States Air Force during World War II and the Berlin Airlift. He retired in 1998 from Miller Transporters, a company founded by his father in 1942. The younger Miller had been comptroller and vice-president since 1952. Carol M Mills of Kamiah ID died January 21 in Mexico. She was 63. Mills worked for W S Hatch Co (Hatchco) in Woods Cross UT for more than 22 years. At Hatchco, she served as traffic manager, publicity director, and corporate secretary. She was a long-time member of the National Tank Truck Carriers board of directors, and was a member of the board of directors of Mountain West Venture Group, Utah Motor Transport Association, and Hatch Service Corp. Mills was chairman and director of the Intermountain Tariff Bureau and trustee and member of the executive committee of the Utah Tech Finance Corp. Survivors include her brother, Larry Mills.
