After more than 40 years on the National Tank Truck Carriers staff—much of it spent as president of the organization—Cliff Harvison is preparing to step down. He will leave for retirement at the end of 2005 and will be succeeded by John Conley, currently NTTC’s vice-president. The announcement was made by the board of directors at NTTC’s annual meeting in Las Vegas NV May 10-12.
Conley will step into the president’s role on January 1, 2006. Harvison said Conley has given NTTC 15 years of solid, hard work and earned the promotion. Conley clearly was the best candidate for the position, according to Lanny Wilhelm, president of Liquid Transport Corp and a member of the search committee.
Retirement won’t mean the end of Harvison’s involvement in NTTC. The board of directors announced that he will be retained on a five-year contract as a part-time consultant.
