The Walker NoiseBraker, a muffler engineered to silence heavy-duty vehicle exhaust and engine-brake noise while increasing engine efficiency, has been introduced by Tenneco Automotive. The NoiseBraker combines acoustical performance — measured under both acceleration and deceleration — with an ultra-high-flow design that reduces system backpressure up to 60%.

At the heart of the NoiseBraker muffler is a high-flow sound tuning system that filters out noise created by the engine and engine brake. The system features dual concentric Helmhotz tuners combined with fiberglass roving to retard noise over a range of frequencies without restricting exhaust flow. Under engine brake-induced deceleration, the NoiseBraker is 2 to 4 decibels quieter than other OE mufflers, according to Tenneco.

The Walker NoiseBraker also uses straight-through exhaust routing to minimize system backpressure. For additional information, contact Tenneco, 500 N Field Dr, Lake Forest IL 60045.
