The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has published a recall for certain International 7500 trucks.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has published a recall for certain International 7500 trucks. The manufacturer has begun notifying owners of a defect in the trucks manufactured from September of 2001 to March of 2004. The problem is with the DT466 or DT530 1308 engines, and either 4x4 or 6x6 capacity.

The universal joint between the front drive shaft and drive axle could come in contact with the engine oil filter. This could cause complete engine oil loss that could result in the engine shutting down, increasing the risk of a crash, according to the NHTSA information. Dealers will install a shorter oil filter and adapter. Owners can reach International for more information at 800-448-7825.
