A NEW two-day format proved successful for the New England Fuel Institute (NEFI) annual convention. The meeting drew more than 6,000 industry personnel.

The North American Heating & Energy Expo was held at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts, and featured over 300 industry manufacturers and service displays, as well as timely business and technical sessions.

The show, which in the past was held over three days, was shortened to two days to accommodate industry members' demanding schedules.

NEFI Convention Chairman Richard B Salmonsen received the first Charles H Burkhardt Honorary Award. The honor is named for a former well-known NEFI chief executive officer. Salmonsen was recognized for providing extraordinary service for the betterment of the oilheat industry.

The NEFI convention is conducted every two years. For more information about the 2003 convention, contact New England Fuel Institute, 20 Summer St, PO Box 9137, Watertown MA 02471-9137: phone: (617) 924-1000; fax: (617) 924-1022; e-mail to [email protected]; or visit www.nefi.com.
