To celebrate its 100th anniversary in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania, Mack Trucks Inc is hosting a community open house from noon to 4 pm June 19.

The event will be at the company's Assembly Operations in Macungie PA at the corner of Route 100 and Gehman Road.

“This is our way of saying thanks to the local community for allowing us to make our home here for the past 100 years,” said Paul Vikner, Mack president and chief executive officer.

Visitors who own bulldogs are encouraged to dress them up and bring them along for a 2:30 pm Most Outrageous Bulldog Idol contest.

The free event will feature a plant tour where all of the company’s construction and refuse trucks are produced.

Antique and current Mack vehicles will be on display. The Mack Shop, offering apparel, gifts and souvenirs, also will be open and complimentary hot dogs and soft drinks will be provided.
