The LOTRX rupture disc from Continental Disc Corp (CDC) is the newest in a line of scored, reverse-acting rupture discs — with the added benefit of lower burst pressure settings than other solid metal rupture discs.

LOTRX comes with burst pressure settings as low as 2 psig in a 1" nominal size. Previously, pressure settings this low were only available in conventional composite disc designs, which require elastomer or fluorocarbon seals. This new solid-metal, reverse-disc design represents a breakthrough in low- pressure relief applications.

The new disc incorporates technologies like CDC's patented failure-initiating indent, located at or near the apex of the rupture disc dome, and CDC's notched outlet ring, which facilitates opening along the precision semicircular score. With a safety ratio of 1-to-1, it provides pressure relief at or below the burst pressure rating, should LOTRX be damaged during installation or handling.
