Kinder Morgan to build new Edmonton tank farm

Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP, Houston TX, through its Kinder Morgan Terminals Canada ULC subsidiary, will begin construction this summer on a new 2.2-million-barrel crude oil tank farm in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, located just north of the Trans Mountain Pipeline storage facility owned and operated by Kinder Morgan Canada.

Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP, Houston TX, through its Kinder Morgan Terminals Canada ULC subsidiary, will begin construction this summer on a new 2.2-million-barrel crude oil tank farm in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, located just north of the Trans Mountain Pipeline storage facility owned and operated by Kinder Morgan Canada.

Situated on approximately 24 acres with access to 20 incoming pipelines and several outbound system, the new facility will have nine tanks and serve as a blending and storage hub for Canadian crude oil. Service is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2007.

One of the outbound pipelines that will connect to the tank farm is Kinder Morgan Canada's 710-mile Trans Mountain Pipeline system, which currently transports up to 225,000 barrels per day of heavy crude oil and refined products from Edmonton to marketing terminals and refineries in the greater Vancouver area, British Columbia, and Puget Sound in Washington state.
