The Internet application, PowerSpec, from Cummins, Columbus, Indiana, allows customers to tailor engine operation to fit their needs. The site features capabilities to read and clear fault codes, collect trip information, and provide gearing recommendations. The program requires no purchase of software. It works on any Cummins Interact System engine, from the ISB to the ISX, as well as the Signature 600.
PowerSpec will provide recommendations based on the user's application, in any type of vehicle. It also reads trip information and fault codes on earlier Cummins engines with the CELECT Plus electronic control system.
PowerSpec offers three sections that make accessing information easy, including engine features and parameters, an engine access tool, and vehicle gearing.
The engine features and parameters section, which includes explanations of the different engine features and parameters like Load-Based Speed Control and Road Speed Governor, describes how they work and how to get the most out of them.
Once a user has decided on the features and parameters setup for an engine, a file can be created and transferred to the Electronic Control Module (ECM).
