MSA Instrument Division has released a new member of its Stellar Series portable instrument product line: the Solaris Multigas Detector. This four-gas instrument provides simultaneous detection of carbon monoxide, oxygen, hydrogen sulfide, and combustible gas.

Ergonomically designed, the detector weighs less than 8 ounces, is comfortable enough to be worn all day, and offers reliable protection without interfering with the user's range of motion.

Encased in a rubberized armor that absorbs impact, the detector has an IP 6/5 rating for protection against liquid and dust ingress. Easily configured to detect up to four gases simultaneously, the detector features a triple alarm system with high-intensity, high-visibility alarm lights, an audible alarm of more than 100 dB, and a strong vibrating alarm.

The display features backlighting, providing contrast for easy reading in low-light conditions and from various angles. An alphanumeric message bar displays commands in “plain English.”

This detector is powered with a rechargeable lithium ion battery that offers 14-plus hours of continuous run time. The battery fully recharges in less than four hours and maintains more than 80% of its original capacity after 500 recharge cycles. A charging cradle and power cord are included.
