Rupture disk indicators that provide immediate notification to plant personnel when a rupture disk bursts or a relief valve opens are available from Zook.

Rupture disk indicators that provide immediate notification to plant personnel when a rupture disk bursts or a relief valve opens are available from Zook. The RDI Series Indicator can be used with metal or graphite rupture disks and is compatible with virtually any system media. This device can be used as part of a digital communication center or linked to a monitoring system such as the Zook ZM2 alarm monitor.

The RDI Series has an electrical circuit embedded within a Kapton membrane. When overpressurization causes the indicator's membrane to rupture, the circuit is broken. The change in voltage or resistance to current then activates the monitoring system.

Shipped ready for installation, the unit includes a 6-foot PTFE sheathed lead wire. It installs onto the vent side of a metal or graphite rupture disk assembly or the discharge side of a relief valve. The RDI Series requires no maintenance and can be used with fluid systems at temperatures from -40° to +392° F. Sizes range from 1" to 24".
