Luber-finer, a unit of Champion Laboratories Inc, has produced the Imperial XL oil filter. Its LH 60 synthetic Micro-glass filter media permits smooth oil flow while removing abrasive particles in the 5-15 micron range. Synthetic media fibers also withstand high operating temperatures and will not degrade in hot engine oil. Other features include:

  • The metal shell provides burst and pulse-fatigue strength and is constructed from environmentally friendly coated metal.

  • The metal end caps are filled with a urethane compound to provide a positive seal between filter media and end cap.

  • The spiral center tube with fluted nibs resists pressure surges; perforated holes in the tube permit maximum flow.

  • The threaded base plate is joined to the can with a rolled leakproof lock seam.

  • The Nitrile gasket provides a positive seal for extended life.

  • The steel coil spring maintains its shape and positive load pressure on the base plate seal.

  • A service interval reminder on the filter label facilitates recording date and mileage information.
