ICCTA Members Concur on Performance Data

Sept. 1, 2001
Chemical distributor associations from 21 nations comprising the International Council of Chemical Trade Associations (ICCTA) have agreed their performance

Chemical distributor associations from 21 nations comprising the International Council of Chemical Trade Associations (ICCTA) have agreed their performance protocols must “involve the highest levels of safety, health, and protection of the environment,” according to Patrick J Marantette, ICCTA president and chairman of the board of the National Association of Chemical Distributors.

He said protocols involve the measuring of performance in areas including storage, handling, disposal and transportation, and a commitment to product stewardship that extends from the sale of chemicals to the safe delivery of the product to the customer. The performance data of protocols contained in the Responsible Care/Responsible Distribution practices adhered to by all ICCTA members were discussed and agreed upon in July 2001 at the European Federation of Chemical Distributors' annual congress in Vienna, Austria.
