The Hamburg, Germany-based Hoyer Group increased its overall revenue in 2002 from 621.66 million euros to 637.53 million euros — a 2.6% climb. Although the transport and logistics service provider's net income after tax rose to 4.68 million euros, the profit margin for revenue is 0.7%.

Its equity capital climbed to 90.52 million euros (2001: 88.56 million euros). With this, the group achieved the goals it had set for itself. A total workforce of 3,665 was employed by Hoyer worldwide during the year under review, whereby the number in Germany increased to 1,712 (previous year: 1,673).

Hoyer has set itself a goal for pre-tax profits to increase to 2.5%. To achieve this, the entire Hoyer Group is undergoing a period of planning and preparation that will culminate by the end of 2003 in the introduction of six separate business units, each of which will be profit-responsible. From 2004 on, Hoyer will then operate in the market according to this new strategy.

The business units for chemicals (Hoyer Chemilog), food (Hoyer Foodlog), gas (Hoyer Gaslog), petroleum and bitumen/lubricants (Hoyer Petrolog), silo bulk products (Hoyer Silolog) and cleaning facilities, as well as transport-related services (Hoyer Techserv) are individually responsible for profits on a European level.
