With plans to expand into Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia, petroleum carrier Goodman Tank Lines (GTL), Stowe PA, has acquired Virginia Tank Lines (VTL), Fredericksburg VA, according to Craig Goodman, who together with his wife, Ellen, own GTL.

"VTL is a good fit for Goodman Tank Lines," Goodman said. "They haul the same type of petroleum products as GTL, such as gasoline, diesel, and lubricants."

The carrier acquired 12 tractors and 14 tank trailers in the acquisition, bringing the GTL fleet to a total of 40 tractors and 54 tank trailers. Company employees now total 65.

Before the acquisition, GTL's service area was concentrated in a 200-mile radius of Stowe, with some lanes extending as far west as Chicago IL and along the East Coast from Massachusetts to North Carolina.

GTL will maintain an office for the new services in the Curtis Bay area, Baltimore MD.
