With plans to expand into Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia, petroleum carrier Goodman Tank Lines (GTL), based in Stowe PA, has acquired Fredericksburg VA-based Virginia Tank Lines (VTL), according to Craig Goodman, who with his wife, Ellen, owns GTL.

The carrier acquired 12 tractors and 14 tank trailers in the acquisition, bringing the GTL fleet to a total of 40 tractors and 54 tank trailers. Company employees now total 65.

Before the acquisition, GTL's service area was concentrated in a 200-mile radius of Stowe, with some lanes extending as far west as Chicago IL and along the East Coast from Massachusetts to North Carolina.

GTL will maintain an office for the new services in the Curtis Bay area of Baltimore MD.
