THE GLOBAL Climate Coalition (GCC) was organized in 1989 by private companies and business trade associations to coordinate business participation in the scientific and policy debate on global warming. It represents more than 230,000 groups with membership from many sectors of the United States economy.
GCC addresses issues affecting the transportation industry and the auxiliary businesses that share an interest in US energy policy. Others involved include representatives from the petroleum industry, chemical firms, and small businesses.
The group provides information about the ongoing controversy and presents information to legislative bodies.
"The GCC places a high priority on scientific and economic research to advance the understanding of earth systems," says the organization.
Support also goes to improvement of climate models and the refinement of tools used for decision making in long-term scientific and economic strategies in an attempt to address the issue successfully.
