FMCSA proposes annual carrier fees

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has issued a notice of proposed rulemaking that would establish annual fees and a fee bracket structure for the Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) Agreement

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has issued a notice of proposed rulemaking that would establish annual fees and a fee bracket structure for the Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) Agreement as required under the Unified Carrier Registration Act of 2005, according to information published in the Federal Register May 29.

Comments on the proposal must be submitted to FMCSA on or before June 13, 2007.

The Unified Carrier Registration Agreement is an interstate agreement governing the collection and distribution of registration and financial responsibility information provided and fees paid by motor carriers, motor private carriers, brokers, freight forwarders, and leasing companies, according to the information.
