FIBA Technologies Inc (www.fibatech.com) of Millbury MA has acquired AMKO Service Company (www.amkotech.com), formerly a subsidiary of Praxair Inc (www.praxair.com).

Founded in 1965, AMKO is a provider of compressed gas equipment services and products with locations in Ohio, Arkansas and California. AMKO specializes in repairing and recertifying high pressure tube trailers and in building and servicing cryogenic and CO2 trailers and tanks. With over 100 employees and 50 years of experience, AMKO carries a reputation for integrity and quality in the industry.

FIBA officials say their acquisition of AMKO combines two premier providers of equipment and services to the gas containment industry. Now with locations in Massachusetts, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Montana, Ohio, California, Arkansas, India and Taiwan, FIBA is proud to expand its ability to offer customers quality services on a timely basis from numerous locations worldwide.

FIBA officials also announced that the Korean Gas Safety (KGS) and Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) has renewed FIBA's Korean manufacturing license ES-81. After a comprehensive, three-day audit of FIBA's manufacturing, engineering and quality processes, KGS approved renewal of the seamless pressure vessel (ASME) and cylinder (DOT tube) manufacturing license for another three years. By passing this audit, FIBA can continue to offer its seamless steel products to customers operating tube trailers, ISO skid containers, and ASME pressure vessels in the Republic of South Korea.
