A West Coast transportation company has recently installed an evaporator based on proprietary technology from APSI Inc.

The evaporator receives rinsewater from the cleaning of transportation tankers for concentration of residual chemicals collected during cleaning. The evaporator produces distilled water at a rate of 200 gallons per hour suitable for reuse, with zero wastewater discharge. Using mechanical vapor recompression technology, it requires no steam, natural gas, or any other source of heat or cooling. The sole input is electricity, and the evaporator operates for less than 1 cent per gallon.

This technology has reduced sound levels to 85 decibels at 3 meters. For more information contact APSI, 205 E Butterfield Rd, Elmhurst IL 60126.
