Designed to illustrate the federal and state tax burden on motor carriers, this publication provides information on the various taxes that may be imposed on a hypothetical 80,000-lb-GVW truck. Whether dedicated or random lanes, this study offers estimates of the taxes paid by less-than-truckload and truckload carriers under specific circumstances.
