DOT Inspector General resigns

The Inspector General for the Department of Transportation, Kenneth M Mead, has announced his resignation effective February 11.

The Inspector General for the Department of Transportation, Kenneth M Mead, has announced his resignation effective February 11.

Deputy Inspector General Todd J Zinser will serve as acting Inspector General until a successor is appointed.

Mead was appointed to the post in 1997. Before becoming Inspector General, he served for 22 years with the Government Accountability Office, Congress’s investigative arm, where he held the position of Deputy Assistant Comptroller General for Policy, after having been the Director of Transportation and Telecommunications Issues and Senior Attorney.
