The advanced features of the D3 Coupler include:

Dual interlocks that ensure that the D3 can't be opened unless it is properly connected to an API adaptor.

OPW Engineered Systems also offers a 1004D3 SRK Seal Replacement Kit that includes all of the seals in the 1004D3 API bottom-loading coupler. These seal-replacement kits are recommended as spare parts. Optional components that can be used with the 1004D3 include the 1004DRN Drain Adaptor, which allows easy, safe draining of the loading arm; and the 1004PA Parking Adapator, which is used to neatly store and secure loading arms when not in use.
