Consolidated Metco now machines components to exacting tolerances in its Simplex fifthwheel product line. While the machined cast-steel top plate maximizes surface contact in the yoke fit-up area, the machined lock, jaw, throat, and eccentric adjustment pin provide a secure connection.

The Simplex machined top plate provides a smoother, flatter contact surface with the trailer deckplate, creating less friction and providing consistent load-bearing distribution. This eliminates the potential for uneven wear. The machined lock, jaw, throat, and eccentric adjustment pin provide a more consistent connection with the trailer kingpin, extending required service intervals and reducing potential for premature slack.

Machined components will be standard on all Simplex II and Simplex Lite fifthwheels. For full details, contact ConMet, PO Box 83201, Portland OR 97283-0201.
