Canadian National opened its new Edmonton Intermodal Terminal at an official ceremony attended by executives, mayors, and other community leaders. The terminal, located on 370 acres adjacent to CN's transcontinental main line, provides truckers access to the Yellowhead Trail to reach cities throughout northern Alberta.

The terminal will operate seven days a week, with an initial annual capacity of 150,000 intermodal units. It is equipped with three front-lift mobile cranes and has seven tracks that can accommodate trains up to 12,000 feet long. Two pad tracks can handle full-length trains without switching.
