CHEMTECH Distribution Inc operates a chemical storage and terminaling facility in Kansas City, Kansas, as part of its parent company's worldwide network. The Kansas City facility is part of Holland Chemical Inc (HCI) and its Midwest division that has three liquid storage terminals with a total of 250 tanks and a capacity of approximately 12 million gallons.

The Kansas City terminal alone accounts for seven million gallons in its 73 storage tanks, says Mike Cox, Kansas City branch manager.

The Kansas City branch offered tours of the facility to members of the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD), who were meeting at an operations seminar September 1999 in Kansas City, Missouri. Operations managers, general managers, and owners of chemical distribution companies were briefed on HCI Chemtech's commitment to quality, safety, responsibility, and stewardship. The operation participates in the NACD Responsible Distribution Process. The tour included discussions about the tank farm, terminals, and bleach plant.

Like many of the other Midwest facilities, the Kansas City unit provides a link between chemical manufacturers and end users. Services include blending, dilution, mixing and packaging. In addition, the company provides storage, transport, technical services, and just-in-time deliveries.

HCI Chemtech in the Midwest shares activities with HCI North America for the distribution and storage of chemicals and raw materials. The Midwest division serves industries from Nebraska through Kansas and Missouri to Western Tennessee. Markets include adhesives, aerosol packaging, agriculture, automotive, chemical processing, construction, cosmetics and personal care, food and beverage, manufacturing, metal treatment, mining and metal refining, oil and gas, paint and coatings, printing inks, pulp and paper, textiles, transportation, and water treatment - municipal and industrial.
