THE ANNUAL Conference and Equipment Show are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to National Tank Truck Carriers activities during 2001. This year's Annual Conference and Equipment Show are being held May 6-8 in Boston, Massachusetts.

August 8-10, association members travel to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, for the Summer Board Meeting. In addition to timely updates on key industry issues, they have time for a few rounds of golf or other recreational activities.

One of the most popular programs, the Leadership Development Conference at Purdue University, is scheduled for September 16-19. This program builds better management and communications skills for terminal managers, safety and maintenance supervisors, and sales personnel.

Later in the fall (October 29-31), tank fleet maintenance professionals gather in Rosemont, Illinois, for the Cargo Tank Maintenance Seminar and Equipment Show. With over 150 exhibits, this is the largest tank truck show in North America. Seminar presentations cover a wide range of tank truck regulatory and maintenance issues.

The Executive Strategies Forum November 5-7 rounds out the year. Designed for top executives at tank truck fleets, the program will address a number of timely issues.

Regional safety meetings are another important part of the NTTC conference lineup. Held in the fall, meetings are planned for Houston, Texas; Columbus, Ohio; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Jacksonville, Florida.

NTTC also works with the Department of Transportation to host workshops on compliance with Part 180 cargo tank testing and inspection requirements. Upcoming workshops are: Chicago, June 26-27; Carteret, New Jersey, July 17-18; and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, August 21-22.
