Barton Instrument Systems has partnered with Exchange Technologies Inc (ETI) to provide a seamless measurement, management, alert, transportation, and control system for dry and liquid bulk goods. This is achieved via Bulk Commander, a single Internet information hub that combines telemetry signals from monitored tanks, GPS and Qualcomm truck location data, truck and rail status, and load/unload operations into a single flow.

Bulk Commander central data storage uses a large and scalable relational database for handling thousands of transactions per second. It supports all encryption methods and standards. Current-event status, history, and delivery performance data are available for browser viewing and for download in various formats. At the heart of the service (which requires no user software other than a web browser) lies the new Microsoft web services computing architecture.
