More than 200 trucking industry security experts are expected to meet May 14-15 at the Radisson Hotel, O'Hare Airport, Rosemont IL, at a national security

More than 200 trucking industry security experts are expected to meet May 14-15 at the Radisson Hotel, O'Hare Airport, Rosemont IL, at a national security forum sponsored by the American Trucking Associations (ATA). On the agenda are subjects that include protecting the food chain, biometrics and driver background checks, and securing highways, bridges, and tunnels.

Topics will include tactics and techniques to safeguard equipment, drivers, and cargo, as well as plans to prevent security breaches and terrorists threats. An added attraction features exhibitors displaying the latest in security technology and equipment.

Jeffrey Beatty, ATA trucking industry security consultant, will offer advice on how to identify and protect vulnerable and likely-to-be-targeted areas of operation. He is a former Army Delta Force officer, CIA counter-terrorism officer, and FBI Special Agent and hostage rescue team member. He will speak at 1 pm, May 14.
