John A McQuaid has resigned as president and chief executive officer of the National Private Truck Council (NPTC), effective immediately. McQuaid told NPTC he will remain on as a consultant for three months to assist in the transition. A search for his replacement has begun.

The board of directors of the Independent Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA) has named E David Doane as the group's new executive vice-president. Doane, hired to an interim position, has been selected to succeed John Prokop, the current president, who has announced his retirement in 2001 after 26 years as president. Before joining ILTA, Doane was director-energy policy with the National Association of Convenience Stores in Alexandria VA.

William E "Bill" Allmond IV has assumed the new title of director of government affairs for the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD). Since April 1997, Allmond has served as manager of regulatory affairs. Jennifer Aleknavage, who was manager of education and training for the Chemical Educational Foundation (CEF), is now director of education and training for CEF. Roselle G Foley has been appointed by the NACD as director of meetings.
