Thomas D Brown, president of Brown NationaLease, Des Moines IA, has ended his term as 2000-2001 chairman of the Truck Renting and Leasing Association (TRALA). Reed Murphy III has been elected 2001-2002 chairman, and the board named Peter J Vroom president. J Michael Payne, who steps down as president, will continue as chief executive officer until the end of 2001. The Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturing Association (SOCMA) has named Kathleen A Shaver director of Responsible Care. Before joining SOCMA, Shaver was manager of environmental and regulatory affairs for the Performance Polymers and Chemicals Business Unit of Honeywell International Inc.
