David G McCorkle, chairman of McCorkle Truck Line, Oklahoma City OK, has been named chairman of the American Trucking Associations, and Kansas Gov Bill

David G McCorkle, chairman of McCorkle Truck Line, Oklahoma City OK, has been named chairman of the American Trucking Associations, and Kansas Gov Bill Graves has been named president and chief executive officer of the group. Graves plans to serve out his term as governor and will assume the ATA duties in 2003. William J Canary, who has been serving as interim ATA president and CEO, will take over the position permanently until Graves can step in. Charles Whittington, president of Grammer Industries, Grammer IN, has been re-elected chairman of the ATA Agriculture Transporters Conference.

Paul Bomgardner has joined the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) staff as director of administration, succeeding Larry Stern. Bomgardner has been active in the CVSA for more than 20 years.

Andrew B Zaleski is this year's recipient of the Canadian Trucking Alliance/Trailmobile Service to Industry Award. Formerly president of Calgary-based Trimac Transportation Services Inc, he stepped down from that position earlier in 2001 and was appointed to Trimac's board of directors.
