The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) has re-elected George G Baima, vice-president-intermodal and corporate relations, Central States Trucking

The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) has re-elected George G Baima, vice-president-intermodal and corporate relations, Central States Trucking Co, as IANA chairman. Barry D Michaels, assistant vice-president-premium operations, Union Pacific Railroad Co, was elected IANA vice-chairman; Theodore Prince, senior vice-president-marketing and sales, Optimization Alternatives Ltd Inc, was chosen as IANA secretary/treasurer. Newly elected and/or appointed to the IANA board of directors are: Douglas B Payne, president, Clarke Logistics; Scott A Smith, director-logistics services, Americas, APL Ltd; and Jane Felt Suter, vice-president, C H Robinson Co. Frank J Sonzala, executive vice-president, Pressure Systems International Inc, was elected to represent IANA's Supplier Division.

The National Industrial Transportation League (NITL) has appointed chairmen for its standing committees: Air Transportation — Jeff Lehman, Transecon Associates Inc; Auditing — Keith Kennedy, Howard Industries; Domestic Waterways Transportation — Looman Stingo, Holcim (US) Inc; Education — Mike Regan, Tranzact Technologies Inc; Hazmat Transportation and Environmental Issues — Steve Hawks, Hawks Logistics Inc; Highway Transportation — John Gentle, Owens Corning; Information Technology Advancement — Candice Kline, Optimum Logistics; Ocean Transportation — John Amos, Amos Logistics; and Railroad Transportation — Phil Marlino, Conoco Inc. Three at-large members will serve on the NITL board of directors: Albert J Giunchi, director of distribution logistics, The Hartz Mountain Corp; Van L Hayes Jr, manager — transportation support services, Vulcan Materials Co; and Robert Pugh, vice-president — transportation and logistics, Georgia-Pacific Corp.
