The Dangerous Goods Advisory Council (DGAC) board of directors has elected Mike Morrissette vice-president. He has been with DGAC for seven years as its technical director and will retain this position while he serves as vice-president.

The Conference on Safe Transportation of Hazardous Articles Inc (COSTHA) board of directors has selected Richard P Schweitzer, partner in the DC law firm of Zuckert, Scoutt & Rasenberger LLP, to serve as COSTHA general counsel and Edward A “Andy” Altemos of HMT Associates LLC of Alexandria VA to provide technical consulting services and serve as COSTHA representative to the Interested Parties (IP) Group.

The Professional Truck Driver Institute Inc (PTDI) has presented the fourth annual Lee J Crittenden Memorial Award to Virginia “Ginny” DeRoze, former PTDI program manager, during the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) annual convention. DeRoze is now director of education and training for the TCA's Truckload Academy.
